Months and months ago, Emily and Dillon asked me about photographing their wedding in Detroit, Michigan. Even though at that point it seemed like August 8th would never arrive, the next few months flew by and their beautiful wedding did not disappoint! 

After photographing their save-the-date images and their engagement session, I only got more excited for their wedding! These two are so perfect for each other. I’m not sure I’ve ever laughed more working with a couple, and their humor and kindness makes those around feel so comfortable and welcome.

We started off the big day at the hotel room Emily & her bridesmaids were at! I was obsessed with her Anthropologie wedding skirt and top, and the baby’s breath flowers the girls put in their hair. She surprised them with adorable Anthropology mugs and beautiful robes! Her girls were a blast to work with, and can I mention that they should definitely be in Vogue?? They had the best model faces 😉

Emily, Dillon & I headed to Belle Isle where we stopped at a beautiful casino, then to the fountain, and then a grassy area with the beautiful Detroit skyline in the background. Their amazing bridal party met us there, and seeing how well the dresses went together with the guy’s spiffy dress shirts, suspenders and bow-tie was almost magical!!  

Emily flowed down the aisle, and the rest of the wedding was just as beautiful with Dillon’s father officiating. They exited with a grand sparkler exit before heading off to an amazing honeymoon in Mexico!
