It felt like a few weeks ago that I sat down with Jessica and Taylor soon after they got engaged talking about wedding photography! In the months ahead, I got to know this amazing couple even more and have the pleasure of calling them my friends. I quickly realized they will put a smile on anyone’s face who’s around them. They clearly had the mindset of focusing on the Lord and each other, no matter how crazy wedding planning got. And they’re a beautiful example of genuine, Christ-centered love. Their day was a pure celebration, and no matter what happened, even when a big storm blew in, they didn’t stop smiling!

Jessica got ready surrounded by her sister, mom, and bridesmaids in their hotel room! We headed to Furman University after, and soon after we arrived a rain shower came in. I assured her we’d be fine, and we did their first look under a beautiful covering! She never once stopped smiling (she’s just the best). It stopped raining right after, and we had gorgeous light for their portraits! Fast forward to the ceremony, and another storm blew in. This one was pretty big! The coordinator came up to me during the ceremony and said “If the power goes out, we’re going to keep going!” Needless to say I was a little nervous, but when I was with Jessica and Taylor after they just smiled and laughed! And you’d never know in their just-married portraits that rain was blowing around and a kind man was holding an umbrella over me as I photographed these two on the front porch of the chapel!! These two get an award!! And their portraits are some of my favorites, full of joy and laughter!!

Jessica and Taylor, I adore you two and respect your relationship! Thanks for giving me so many wedding planning tips, assuring me you’re there if I have any questions for my own wedding- more than just saying it but really meaning it- even when I was there to help YOU with your day, and for sharing your constant joy with others. You are two of the most selfless people I’ve ever met, and getting to be apart of your day makes me teary!!
