When I received Georgia’s inquiry for her southern wedding at Sugah Cain Plantation, her family’s 60 acre plantation in Charleston, SC, I was SO excited!!!! It sounded like a dream! And THEN, I met Georgia and Duncan in person. And that’s when my heart was even more excited. Because not only would their day be beautiful, these two have the biggest, most serving hearts I’ve ever seen. They met while both working at FCA at Furman (The Fellowship of Christian Athletes), which in itself says a lot! Through the next months, we had their engagement session at Furman University (see it here), and planned through their day!
Georgia and her father pulled up in a horse drawn carriage, and she just flowed down the aisle! When she reached the end of the aisle, I’d see Duncan glance past her father and over at Georgia and just stare at his beautiful bride smiling ear to ear! They were married under the Spanish moss at sunset, surrounded by so many of their family and friends who so dearly looked up to them. The minister and said he had 4 boys, and prays they grow up to be the man Duncan is. In the middle of the ceremony, they bowed before God surrounded by their bridal party and family, and prayed for God’s blessing on their marriage. I’ll admit I was teary quite a bit this wedding, and these two are serious goals!!!
Her father danced with her to the song “Georgia on My Mind” (how cute is that???), before everyone broke out into some pretty intense swing dancing!! I might need this family to give me lessons because they were amazing (and I can’t even car dance… so yeah)!!!
So not only was the weather perfect, the location incredible, the colors perfect, and the Spanish moss an unbeatable backdrop, but Georgia and Duncan are the most loving, kind, and generous couple. I’m not sure they stopped smiling once (so I didn’t ever stop smiling either! Their joy is so infectious!), and I’m so excited to share their wedding!!!
These girls were SO fun!!!! And GORGEOUS!She never stopped laughing!!! Oh I just love her!!!Don’t the boys look so dapper???Oh that carriage. That light. Georgia’s smile. SO beautiful!I told you he kept looking over at her! One of the sweetest families I’ve ever met.SUCH a fun bridal party!!!Oh you two!!!!!!Georgia you are just the cutest!!!! And I love the way Duncan just looks at his wife!!!!
