Shea & Daniel Engagement Session | Clemson Engagement Session

This Clemson engagement session is hands down one of my favorites!! It doesn’t feel that long ago that I was running around my college campus, trying to get by while growing my business. I’d edit and blog whenever I could, and even remember asking a teacher if I could edit in his class and he graciously said yes (I had the best teachers!)! My laptop was always up and I edited images whenever I could, and my lunch hour often consisted of answering emails or frantically getting homework done because the night before was busy. Heading to school bright and early, going straight to a shoot after school, and then sometimes back to campus for a group project or meeting became way too normal! And to be honest, I became a boss at changing in my car, napping in my car, and editing in my car (aka my office during this busy time)! But life was insane, busy, and to be truthful tiring! BUT what kept me going was reminding myself I could do photography more after graduating, and that could be my main focus! It was truly a test to be sure I LOVED what I did and wanted to stick with it. College definitely helped me grow my business with the connections I made and skills I learned, but I was so ready to jumpstart into it full-time!

The reason I say this is because that season has given me such a huge respect for other girls out there currently powering through school while building their business! It’s a lot, and it’s exactly what Shea is doing! I had the huge privilege of mentoring Shea a few weeks back! Her photography business is growing as she finishes up her degree at Clemson University (can she get an amen for doing all the things??)! She’s crazy talented, and I was SO honored when she emailed me saying she’d love to do a session with her fiancé at the place they’re finishing up their degrees and came together at! How perfect is that??

We met at Clemson University, and our time spent with them felt like time spent with friends! Edward came and assisted with this session, and I made a joke to Daniel that he needed to get familiar with helping with sessions! After the outfit change he came up to Edward with a donut and said, “This is for you being a trouper.” Shea told me Daniel had told her, “I know my time is coming!” God bless the men who decide to marry photographers! ;)) They’re the real heroes!

Shea and Daniel are so sweet and loving, and just laughed through the session! I know big things are ahead for them, and they are such a light to everyone around them. They met co-leading a Bible study and Clemson when they were freshman, and became friends! When they both were single, Shea reached out to Daniel as a friend and the rest is history! Now they’re getting married this summer and you can tell they’re SO excited!! I love the words Shea wrote about Daniel: “Daniel is, aside from my salvation, the greatest blessing I’ll ever receive from God.”
